A 43-inch floor-standing kiosk RFQ usually arrives as one dense paragraph: portrait steel totem, RK3576, 4 GB + 64 GB, Android 14, at least 500 cd/m², white-label, CE for the EU. Four separate decisions are buried in that sentence — the structure, the processor, the panel brightness and the certificate scope. The first three are engineering. The fourth decides whether the unit can be sold in Europe at all. This article takes them in the order that costs least to fix.

The 43-inch kiosk is a portrait totem: steel enclosure, closed lower panel holding the board and power supply, a lockable service door, flat base plate on four lockable castors. Nothing about the mould changes between buyers. What changes is what goes inside it.
This is where most quotes go wrong. RAM and storage are soldered at production; they cannot be upgraded in the field, and they cannot be swapped on a delivered unit. Decide now.
| Configuration | What it suits | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| RK3568, 4 GB + 32 GB | Looping ads, USB playback, light wayfinding | Tight for a browser-based CMS and for video walls |
| RK3568, 8 GB + 128 GB | Multi-zone ads plus interactive wayfinding | Still Android 13 on the kiosk build |
| RK3576, 4 GB + 64 GB | Edge AI features, heavier web apps, longer service life | Confirm the Android build you need before ordering |
| RK3576, 8 GB + 128 GB | Content with local AI inference or 4K multi-window | Over-specified if the screen only loops a video |
The 43-inch kiosk ships on Android 13 today; the RK3576 platform is the route to a newer Android build. Ask for the exact firmware version in writing with the quotation — "Android 14 or newer" in a PO without a version on the datasheet is how projects end up with a software certification problem six weeks after delivery.
Our published 43-inch 4K panel is rated 200 cd/m². That is honest and it is also dim for a glass-fronted lobby in daylight. The practical rule is that a screen should be roughly three to five times the ambient light falling on it, so a 200 cd/m² panel belongs in controlled indoor light — corridors, bank branches, hospital interiors, showroom corners.
| Requirement | Panel class | Belongs where |
|---|---|---|
| Up to ~200 cd/m² | Standard indoor 4K (our published AD43 figure) | Controlled indoor light, away from windows and spotlights |
| 350 cd/m² class | Indoor high-brightness touch panel | Bright retail interiors, atrium edges, near glazing but not facing it |
| 500 cd/m² and above | High-brightness panel, quoted per project after panel availability check | Window-facing positions and daylight lobbies |
| Direct sun or rain | Not this product family | Outdoor displays are a separate line — our kiosks are indoor only |
Glass matters as much as nits: a 500 cd/m² panel behind clear glass facing a window can look worse than a 350 cd/m² unit with an anti-glare surface. And if a buyer says "500 nits" without saying where the unit stands, ask for the site photo and the orientation to the nearest window.

Standard is 10-point projected capacitive touch behind Mohs 7 tempered glass, ±1 mm accuracy, minimum recognisable finger point ≤ 2 mm, response ≤ 8 ms. For multi-user wayfinding — a mall directory, a hospital guide — infrared touch at up to 40 points is the option to specify, because two or three people will touch the same screen at once.
Choose the glass against the light, not the brochure: anti-glare near windows, anti-fingerprint for high-touch self-service. Ask the replacement panel price before you buy — on a kiosk the panel is the largest repair cost.
Our CE-LVD, EMC and RoHS reports cover 65, 75, 86, 98 and 110-inch panels. They do not automatically cover a 43-inch unit, because certificates attach to a tested configuration, not to a brand. A 43-inch kiosk sold into the EU needs its own 43-inch LVD + EMC + RoHS report, and that takes weeks, not days.
| Market | Certificate | Status for the 43-inch kiosk |
|---|---|---|
| EU | CE-LVD, EMC, RoHS | Needs a 43-inch-specific report — schedule before the first serial order |
| US | FCC | Ask for the report matching the board and panel you order |
| China | CCC | Available on the standard configuration |
| Android GMS | Google EDLA | Approval attaches to specific models and firmware — request the certificate PDF for the exact build |
Practical consequence: if the first EU shipment is three months away, raise the 43-inch certificate in the RFQ, not after the PO. And when a buyer forwards a competitor certificate as proof of compliance, check the model number and the panel size on that document — a 65-inch LVD report is not a 43-inch LVD report, however similar the enclosures look.
Yes. RK3576 is available on this family in 4 GB + 64 GB and 8 GB + 128 GB. It is a build option, not a catalogue item, so it has to be stated on the order.
Only in controlled indoor light. For a bright atrium or a position near glazing, specify the high-brightness panel; for direct sunlight the screen belongs to an outdoor product family, which this kiosk is not.
No. The floor-standing kiosk is an indoor unit — no IP rating, no weather sealing, no sun-load management.
Not yet under our existing reports. CE-LVD, EMC and RoHS currently cover 65 inch and above; a 43-inch unit for the EU needs its own report, which we plan with the first order.
Yes — nameplate, boot animation, packaging and manual can carry your brand alone. The enclosure mould and the base plate stay as they are.
Ten points of capacitive touch covers a single-user kiosk; specify 40-point infrared when several people will use the same directory screen at once.
If you are specifying a 43-inch kiosk for a specific site, send the position photo, the brightness requirement and the destination market — those three answers fix the panel, the price and the certificate plan faster than any catalogue. Full dimensions and port layout are on the floor-standing digital signage kiosk page, and if the screen is going to be wall-mounted instead, the wall-mounted digital signage range uses the same panels. Buyers comparing furniture formats usually end up in our touch table vs wall panel vs kiosk article before they choose; private-label volume terms are covered in MOQ for private-label panels. Panel sizes and port drawings for the whole family sit in our product specification library, and the interactive touch table is the seated alternative when the position is a meeting room rather than a corridor.
