Two free-standing screens, both about two metres tall, both showing full-colour content in a lobby. From three metres away they look like the same product — yet the quotations differ sharply. This article compares a foldable indoor LED poster (our KI 92 with COB P1.25 and KI 80 with GOB P1.86, both foldable) against a conventional LCD digital standee, and says plainly which jobs each one is better at. Indoor models only.

| Consideration | Foldable LED poster (KI 92 / KI 80) | LCD digital standee |
|---|---|---|
| How the image is made | Self-emissive LED modules, no backlight | LCD panel with LED backlight |
| Typical brightness | 600 cd/m² standard | Usually 350–500 cd/m² in this format |
| If one area fails | Replace that module; the rest keeps running | Replace the whole panel — the largest single cost |
| Transport and install | Folds between installation points; two people stand it up | Rigid panel, needs a crate and careful handling |
| Best fit | Bright lobbies, retail windows, exhibition halls, brand walls | Smaller interiors, meeting-room signage, tight budgets |
The decision usually turns on one question: who pays when something breaks? On an LCD standee a damaged panel is a large bill. On an LED poster it is a module, and a module is a small fraction of the unit.

Choose the KI 92 when the poster must be read from the far end of a hall — its active area is twice the KI 80's. Choose the KI 80 for narrow lobby columns, lift lobbies and retail entrances, where 660 mm of width fits the space. The KI 92 carries the finer pitch of the two, so if people will stand within about 2 m of the screen, that is the model to specify. Both are 600 cd/m², so the choice is width and pixel pitch, not brightness. Full figures for every model are kept on our product specification pages, and the tri-fold version is covered on the tri-fold LED poster page.
It wins in bright, high-traffic indoor space: mall entrances, hotel and hospital lobbies, retail windows facing daylight, exhibition halls, corporate receptions. There an LCD standee fights the ambient light and looks grey by mid-afternoon.
It is not the answer everywhere. For a 55-inch directory screen in a lift lobby, an LCD panel is cheaper and adequate. And like any LED product it is indoor only — 0 °C to 38 °C, 10–90 % humidity, no IP rating for rain or direct sun. Outdoor or semi-outdoor locations are a different product family and should be specified separately.
Yes. The KI 92 folds up/down or left/right; the KI 80 folds up/down. Neither needs a crate the size of the screen.
Ours is rated 600 cd/m² on both models; LCD standees in this format typically sit around 350–500 cd/m².
Yes. Modules are individually replaceable and the rest of the display keeps running — the main long-term cost difference against a single LCD panel.
No. Both models are indoor units, 0 °C to 38 °C, 10–90 % humidity, with no weather protection.
The built-in RK3576 board runs Android 14 with WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5, one RJ45 port and two USB ports, so content can be pushed over the network or played from USB, with remote system upgrade supported.
If you are comparing a foldable LED poster with an LCD standee for a specific site, send us the room, the viewing distance and the doorway width — those three numbers decide the model faster than any brochure.
